The Hill Country Soil and Water Conservation District is currently accepting applications for a conservation technician to work with landowners in Bell, Burnet, Coryell, Hamilton, Lampasas, Mills, and Williamson Counties. The individual hired will be required to work with farmers and ranchers to develop water quality management plans and assist producers in obtaining and utilizing cost-share funding to implement conservation best management practices on acreage. Qualified individuals will have a degree in agriculture, natural resources, or a related field. Individuals with experience in natural resource planning are desired. Computer skills are a must and experience with the ArcView planning program is an advantage. The position is a full-time, temporary position. It is funded through a grant that ends Sept. 30, 2017; with the possibility of continuing beyond that time period. Training will be provided, but any pertinent experience should be listed.
